See Well, Be Well Initiative

The Peck Opticians is committed to promoting healthy vision. Through its See Well, Be Well Initiative, and as a service to our community, Peck Opticians offers thorough, free “Vision Check-up” events at a variety of locations throughout Southwest Florida. These events have been held at real estate developments, retirement communities, social forums, health fairs and job fairs. During this free service, our knowledgeable staff conducts a vision screening and a slit lamp exam in order to detect any vision problems such as the beginning of cataracts, decreased vision due to other diseases/impairments or loss of peripheral vision as a result of droopy eyelids.

Lexington Lions Club

Lexington Lions Club, Established on December 15, 1920, comprises passionate individuals committed to serving our community. As the largest Lions Club in Kentucky, our members are devoted to assisting those in need within our local area. Over the past decade, our club has donated over $2 million to support programs benefiting the blind, visually impaired, deaf, hearing impaired, diabetics, pediatric cancer patients, individuals affected by hunger, and environmental causes.

Visual impairments affect people all over the world, but unfortunately, poverty often prevents them from accessing proper vision care. Lions International, in partnership with local Lions Clubs, is leading an initiative to collect and recycle used prescription glasses. These refurbished glasses are then distributed free of charge to underprivileged individuals across the globe. Peck Opticians is proud to collaborate as a recycling partner with the Lexington Lions Club, providing eyeglasses to help those in need. If you would like to support our community, you can drop off your used eyeglasses at our locations in Lexington, KY or Frankfort, KY.

The Nathaniel Mission

The Nathaniel Mission seeks to transform the city of Lexington and the lives of our neighbors through investing ourselves in acts of generosity, service, support, and love. For over 75 years, The Nathaniel Mission has been a partner in the work of restoring dignity and honor to those marginalized and overlooked in urban Lexington.

Helping The Community

In addition to comprehensive eye care, the Peck Opticians provides comprehensive eye care, surgical evaluations and treatment of many eye diseases. Specializing in curing cataracts using state of the art technology, Dr. Snead also performs eyelid surgery, which is often covered by insurance.
